H2 Inland Ports Position Paper

The New Energy Landscape: Today the members of EFIP (European Federation of Inland Ports) adopted a position paper on hydrogen (H2 Inland Ports Position Paper – Hydrogen in Inland Ports).

Hydrogen is currently in the center of attention as a potential solution for decarbonization of various economic sectors, such as transport, industry and heating, among other energy carriers. Inland ports play a central role in European transport networks and can therefore also play an important role in energy supply and distribution in the future.

Today, the aim was to formulate a common position of the European inland ports regarding their role in H2 supply. For this purpose, EFIP and Hafen Wien GmbH together with thinkport VIENNA invited to join the workshop at the premises of the Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) in the Vienna Hofburg. thinkport VIENNA had the honor to organize the process of consensus building for EFIP.

In the corresponding workshop series, the contents of the position paper were previously developed with the involvement of numerous experts. At this point we would like to thank:
